A new bike, a new concept and a new Hamara Bajaj...

After reaching the Vasant Intercontinental, we were greeted by Mr. Gaurav Rathore from Bajaj Auto and a short while later the presentation began. During the presentation we were briefed about Bajaj Auto’s new strategy with regards to the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi and the Probiking showrooms. This is something which is usually reserved for the internal audience or at the max media representatives and I believe this was the first time an automobile company in India was doing it for the enthusiasts.

We were also shown the new Hamara Bajaj advertisement and a short film depicting the concept behind Probiking showrooms.

After the presentation, we gave Mr. Rathore a list of questions which will be answered by Bajaj Auto’s technical team in a few days and would be put up on BCMTouring thereafter.

After the wonderful presentation by Bajaj Auto, it was our turn to show our appreciation towards them for not only inviting us to this presentation, but also for making wonderful motorcycles, which have made it possible for us to explore even the remotest part of India with ease. After the presentation, it was time for cocktails and general Q&A session with Mr. Rathore, which later turned into another grilling session with Mr. Rathore actively listening to our views and questions about Bajaj and biking in general.

This later turned into a round table conference with Mr. Rathore enlightening us about Bajaj Auto and we in turn telling him about the consumer and a tourer’s side of the story:

It was good to see that Bajaj Auto’s representatives were not only lending us a sympathetic ear, they were actually working hard to resolve those issues.

Here are few things we managed to get out of them:

1. The Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi wasn’t delayed due to engine or Fuel Injection trouble; in fact the only problem thus far encountered and corrected in the 220 DTS-Fi was an issue with the rear disk brake.

2. Bajaj is currently working on a multi cylinder engine!

3. Bajaj might enter the racing arena at a later stage!

4. Bajaj is actively taking feedback from consumers and is trying hard to improve the quality of its service networks.

The presentation and dinner which was suppose to end by 9:30 pm, ended up stretching till 11:30 pm thanks to all the biking and touring talk we had with the Bajaj Guys, which frankly is too huge to be contained into a few pages.

I would like to once again thank all the Bajaj Representatives present at Vasant Intercontinental and at the Probiking showroom for providing us with such a wonderful opportunity and listening patiently to our non stop rambling!
