Though our community boasts of more than 600 members, only a handfull of us are seen to be participating actively... I request

1) Leave atleast an empty message in this thread so that other we come to know who all log's in.

2) After 15-30 days (Whatever Owner/Mods prefers) the members who haven't logged in since last couple of months should be informed through email & if they don't reply, their accounts should be deleted.

In this way we shall come to know how strong we really are !!!

What say guys ???

Couldn't agree more with what you say. However, we also need to understand why so many dormant members are kept by all these forums! I really do not know the implications, but I suspect it has to do with 'ratings' and other such technical/commercial stuff.

Would be helpful if SuperAdmin or someone explains these issues.
No forum seems to want to 'delete' any memberships, regardless of the time for which they have been 'inactive'!
Why, I even changed my handle on one forum and then requested the mods to delete my old 'account', and they said it really does not matter. Both my 'accounts' are in existence there. These large membership numbers make the forum look impressive!

Well, I for one don't like the idea that I will be 'deleted' if I happened to remain dormant for some time.

1) I don't insist that if a member remains inactive for certain period of time his/her account must be deleted !!! Its upto mods and owners...

2) I only want to see that how many members are active...

These are just stats; we do regularly send out email notifications to registered members who have accepted to receive emails, informing them of important announcements etc. Apart from that I for one don’t pay any importance to the register member base number, for me things like articles, reviews, travelogues etc. are much more important and are the essence of this site rather than stats displayed on the home page of the forums.
