Mention timing of your commute. I have always found train to be much better in this particular route.

Re: Mumbai-Baroda-Ahmedabad
I am quite regular in Surat-A'bad circuit.

Most of the time I use car.2nd preference train(love garib raths) and 3rd preference is Bus.
best buses are volvo by any operator.I have good experience of Neeta Volvo.
And if u r looking for overnight journey AC sleepers are best..

baki I agree with Prasham.Trains are better..

Eagle if you have moolah...starts from western express highway with stops at andheri and borilvili.Crowd in these buses is decent.

Sreenath if you want cheaper sleeper type buses.Starts from ghatkopar with stop at borivili.Check in front of national park flyover. There are zillions of bus operators.

What about Raj National Express. Can be booked online, in advance. I found their service quite good.

More expensive compared to others and in Surat/Ahmedabad they stop quite far from city center.not sure for other cities.
Everytime I found cheaper deals from other volvo operators.and yes Raj is not having whole fleet of Volvo..Many Tata buses are also in their fleet.

Re: Mumbai-Baroda-Ahmedabad
When Raj started its office in ahmedabad, there was a ban on bringing buses inside the octroi limits or so. Hence it started its office on SG Road. Moreover they share same stops with other operators in mumbai. They surely are costliest.

Apart from volvo, Tata Globus is used but that too is quite comfortable.

Anytime, trains are best. If you get caught in one of those jams in and around Surat in a Bus, you'd be up the creek...... no jams for Trains in Mumbai A' bad sector.

Re: Mumbai-Baroda-Ahmedabad
No jams sure, but what about "Mega Blocks" in mumbai? If one is stuck in train during mega blocks it takes much more time than it would do normally.

But anyhow I prefer Trains for this route.
