Mumbai-Gujrat-Rajasthan route volvos/buses
I recently travelled from mumbai-rajasthan and had a tough time to find cheap bus services since I couldnt book train tickets

Buses from mumbai ply max upto Nathadwara which lies on NH-8

The options available between mumbai-udaipur are
1]Eagle volvo:They charge anything between 1200 bucks -1600 bucks.Better call up their office. They have a head office in borivili.Eagle volvo have good twin screen 'working' video systems.

2]Shreenath semisleeper:Shreenath bus services rule rajasthan.I travelled back from udaipur to mumbai in mere 350 bucks compared to 1200 charged by volvo.350 bucks for 750 kms is fcking cheap. If you want a sleeper berth which is comfy for a 5'7" person they charge you 500 bucks per berth(recommended for journeys more than 14 hours).Shreenath have their office in ghatkopar.

3]Apart from that there is Raj National Express till udaipur which costliest of all

All buses have a major halt under the flyover in front of National Park,Borivili,Mumbai. This is where you can board them.
For Udaipur you can board at bus stand, udaipora

I took the bus coz we couldnt book train tickets.

I find volvos more spacious than rear seat of many cars(small ones).Hence no problems on very long journeys. Also while coming I took a sleeper berth(500 bucks). So no problemo even though it wasnt volvo. Also there was the joy of coming back cheaplu

I would normally prefer travelling on bike. However dad didnt let me to take bike this time and I didnt pursue it coz I ha a co-traveller and he wouldnt have invested in protective gear.

by sleeper bus, I am willing to travel even to kanyakumari. Most buses like that in gujjuland that I had, were fantastic - no strain, very comfortable.

My experience of Sleeper Coaches is terrible due to the route it took... When travelling in a sleeper coach, ensure that you get front beds... Rear seats will prove to be terrible on badly laid tar...

1500-1600 is good for a volvo on Mumbai-Udaipur Route and you might get more tired in a sleeper bus when compared to 2x2 Volvos !!!

Re: Mumbai-Gujrat-Rajasthan route volvos/buses
^^ apparently there are sleeper volvos too.I havent seen one but had booked ticket for one on phone and I never showed up

Eagle plies one which leaves udaipur at 6:00 pm.

What they do is they place a berth for every two seats.so for a capcity of 2*2,two people can sleep on lower berth and two on upper berth.Just the berth are metal frame structures later added. So same number of people can travel as seat capacity

Only on lhs of the bus the berths are narrow and for single person. So they lose out on capacity on lhs of the bus .Anyways prices for berths are more than seats so decent profit is made.Gujrathi/Marwadi business genius
