Ya turbohead; peculiar it was indeed
even the guys at the Ford workshop were not able to spot the fault; I had to do a lot of reading on the net to guide them |

Hi,
This is the major problem in ford, and also for fix this issues it is very expensive. Yes the same problem I am facing till now, after multiple researches taken by ford service station declared that electrical component may be failure. In ford it will cost 35k.For analyzing this they cost me around 18k for last month in Chennai. My car performance improved after attending the taper noise (i.e.) while this reasearch.Now in ac while gear shift car turn off, But in non AC it will run smooth this is my current status of my car. And don’t try to start your car in motion with gear shift while in AC since clutch plate will easily wear off. And it will cost 11k in Ford. Don’t try to give your car for local service stations. Since this component is not available in local market so they will cheat you and they will inform you to change petrol ignition pump. My suggestion, better you can buy new car in ford by exchange offer. This is the best solution and my experience preferred ford always since very simple mechanism 100 % guaranty to return back home at any cause. (Exception for battery failure due to alternator problem and you can easily fix this problem in 500rs) |

@Kami -
you are right; can be good side money though, involves a lot of reading@mani - I think you should get your clutch and VS sensor checked by them! They charged you for testing your car

Hi Rahul,
I have a 200 model Ikon 1.6 CLXI petrol & recently while commeng back from Ooty I had the same problem....By the nature of the problem, it seems like the fuel injector needs cleaning along with the replacement of petrol filter & check & get the spark plugs cleaned or replace the faulty ones. If your airfilter is old or done enough (8K is ideal for ford conventional filters coz they are screwed up), replacing the filter is also a good option. My car got its new NGK IRIDIUM point plugs about 60 days back & now I need to get the fuel injection system cleaned & replace the petrol filters....I will be getting these things done in the 2nd week of July & once done I will let you know if thats the root cause.

Did you take your car to the Ford authorized service center or a local mech for check & replace of VSS.

Harpreet Ford; I dont think some parts like sensors are available in the after-market.
Has your cars performance improved by using the NGK's? If yes, then how? Would love your feedback as I am also planning to buy the same!! Have you got any mods of your car like the K&N filters or something? |
