peculiar problem with my Ford Ikon
Guys, firstly sorry to bombard you with so many questions over the last couple of weeks since I have become a BCMTian; but I just feel that people here know their basics and can help me out.
I own a Ford Ikon 1.6 SXI Petrol (Oct'2000) which has done 1,05,000 kms till date. It has been a relatively trouble free car expect for a few bits here and there. However, lately, to be precise, since last 10 days, the car is giving a peculiar problem. While changing the gear and pressing the clutch (when the accelerator is released), the RPM suddenly is lost and the car switches off. This happens whether the AC is on or off. Sometimes the car trembles as well and then the RPM gets stabilized after falling till around 200 - 300. I have got the car new spark plugs, changed the oil (mobil) and oil filter, etc, but to no effect. Can you please suggest what can be wrong with it. I am thinking of getting the injectors cleaned and also getting the sensor cleaned. Look forward to your suggestions. |

funny thing here is that the car is not missing at all. The acceleration is pretty consistent!

Rahul, has the clutch plate been replaced ever or is it the original one?
