Default Do foreigners know more about traveling in India than Indians?

Some time I get the feeling, that when it comes to traveling in India, foreigners know more about it than us Indians.

What do you think?

I partly agree with this. Difference is that many Indians do not READ. i.e. NO READING HABIT, even if they have to visit a place/country. The difference is so clear when you look at most 'foreigners' - they'll always have a book with them, be it fiction or the LP guide. Indians, by comparison, do not read.
The ones that do read are just such a miniscule percentage, like our friends on these forums.

well the ones who dont read, dont even travel much. they usually go to well known places like nainital, manali, shimla.. you wont find people goin to the lesser known hill stations without proper knowledge...

May be Indians don't read be a reason but also most of the foreigners have quite some time on their hand and also they are much more eager to know about the places they visit...

During this year's trip to ladakh, I had meet a canadian couple who was in india since 6 months. They were in the GH of Sumur for 4 days... Has anyone of us every done that ???

Indians dont travel.

Indians save money to buy gold which they wear on marriages (event of supreme importance in our lives)wherein money is spent lavishly to feed strangers who meet only on marriages and funerals.Alternately money is spent on buying over(hyper)priced houses which we think is an 'investment'Later after the marriage the money is saved for 'kids' educations and later their marriages

We are like that only

Anup I totally agree with the not reading bit, most often than not even those who love to travel don’t bother with looking up for information about the places they are planning to visit.
