I lost my Driving license 2 months before. since i'm currently staying away from the place, from wher DL got issued, i reapplied DL. First i applied Learners and after a month on 23rd June i'd appeared for road test.
Now when i talk to the agent they are saying it'll take some more time as they are providing electronic cards(which was introduced on 25th Jun 2009). Due to this new process they can not give any ETA for this DL. Problem now is i'm going to Laeh on 9th July and if DL is not ready by then what should i do? I do not have even original of Learners, as i've submitted that in RTO for applying DL. I've only Xerox of Learners. Expert comment.

Don't go without a license! In any case, why are you reapplying for a DL? You should have gotten the duplicate DL issued from your native place, in fact this is what you should be doing at this moment!

You said it yourself, you do not have the original copy of learning license and that is the problem, especially if you get into an accident. Do you think that cops or court would pay any attention to the fact that you were about to get a full driving license?
As far as I remember, even with the learners license, you have to have some one with a full driving license, while you are driving your vehicle (or is it only applicable for four wheelers?). |

Don't think there will be any problems with getting the permit, though what will you do when the check post people (starting from Darcha) ask for your license?

Don't go without a DL man .... you are inviting problems in case of any accident
BTW why don't you contact any RTO agents; give whatever bribe they want to get it done; but don't pay in advance to anybody in Bangalore; I had bitter experiences with Bangalore RTO agents; but I have also seen that one of my friend getting RC book duplicate within one day. Its sad that u have problems at the last moments ... |

It is for two wheelers as well and we need to have "L" board both at the front and the back of the vehicle.
Cheers, SHankar

you can't travel with just a Learner's xerox copy. you have to take someone on your vehicle who has a proper DL and the xerox copy of the Learner should be attested from a proper authority, then you are safe and legal from all aspects.
