couple of questions.ok, maybe more
![]() 1. what's the savings in transport cost? 2. do we have to pack the bike ourselves if transported through IR? 3. any additional coolie costs at the time of unloading or is that also added into the total logistics cost?

Dheeraj generally movers and packers charge much more than the Indian Railways.
Bikes going through Railways are packed by themselves, though you might need to bribe them to pack it well. Bribes, as usual. |

Be it Gati, agrwal or whoever, in logistic business in India you never know in what condition you'll get your stuffs.

I talked to Gati ppl, they told me tht it will cost me Rs.3200 and 6 days from Delhi to Pune. When I asked abt probability of getting my machine w/o a scratch...they said, it doesnt happen usually but still they give "some" report to get an insurance claim!
And thats sufficient for scaring me!! For IR, I am just scared of negligence at intermediate stages!! |

Take it as accompanied baggage to Mumbai in the brake van. There is always one brake van which carries through cargo Delhi to Mumbai and this one is locked at Delhi and unlocked only at Mumbai. You can witness both operations. A small tip to the loaders will ensure a cozy corner for your bike in the brake van!
