Default GPS for vehicles

Hi,

Given that we have 3/4 vendors in the market selling GPS for vehicles - mapmyindia, garmin, satguide, has anyone done a review/ comparison of how accurate and good they are and how often are the updates sent?

I have the mapmyindia gps on my cell phone and though it is quite good on the highway it does have issues navigating in cities. I am not sure if that is due to my not having their dedicated hardware.

Thanks and regards

Though I cannot comment on the devices as I havent used any yet. But I used to refer mapmyindia on the net for directions and places and I think its the prob with the maps itself than the device. I dont think mapmyindia has an exhaustive map yet.

My mini Mapmyindia review is here: MapmyIndia Lx130 review

Have not had the time to take it out on the highways yet. Will post that later.

To tell the 'inside' story, here it is:
For all the mountain sections, MMI has NO dedicated surveyors!!!
They've commissioned all manner of dubious and highly questionable persons to submit maps of the areas to them!

They should really allow for user-contributed maps on their site, which they can later vet and include in their maps.

Trouble is, the 'outside' story of how the company seems to be from the 'inside' they are not that enthusiastic on the innovation front.
