Depends, sometime you can put the motorcycle in during 10mins and sometime you can't. I remember one of my friend once put his motorcycle in train and it was supposed to stop in Delhi for 15mins, during that time we couldn't get the bike out since the luggage was filled to the brim and against the door, so even after almost half a dozen guys pulling it, it couldn't be opened and he had to travel with it till Jalandhar, where the platform was on the other side and that door opened.
Btw, once you cross the nightmare known as Delhi bypass, it is smooth sailing till Chandigarh, with majority of the road being like this.

I don't want to take a 10 mins' risk and spoil the whole trip. We will ride or carry the bike in Train / bus till Trivandrum from Banagalore. Now our official starting point becomes Trivandrum.
Sceneries + Four Line !!! This is luxurious We will enjoy it on our way back from Leh to Delhi.....may be in the evening, because we are planning for Manali - Delhi ride on the last biking day |

For me ...Delhi to Manali is more like a plain ride instead of hilly one. Wide good road till Manali
(except some patches when you entered in Himachal from Kiratpur Sahib).Well plan accordingly and enjoy the ride.

Hey, there is a nice, very scenic route (bad roads et al, LOL) that goes from Panchkula to Swarghat, bypassing Punjab. Do check on your maps, else I'll look up later and post the route.

^^ I think u mean the pinjore - nalagarh - swarghat road. But its bad in shape, best avoided
Edit: Since we get so many queries on transportation, lets make this thread sticky and merge every query here. This way it will be more informative. What say mods? |

Thanks Anup Sir. I don't have any detailed map for scenery right now. Was planning to go by NH. Actually I prefer narrow and scenic roads than wide / Four lines. If you have any routes please let me know.

As Prem mentioned in one of the previous posts, there is a considerable difference between the charges for bike transportation in Mail Express / Shadabdi / Rajadani. (Rajadhani being much costlier) Giving way to Experienced guys to comment more on this... |
