Maybe your grand children might be able to do Delhi-Srinagar by train. Have patience!

This is very concerned issue as China laid its train lines to Tibet and in planning to connect most of its border area with train facility.
It’s an alarming issue as we are still nowhere in front of them.

Nandy, the train runs from Baramula to Anantnag, a distance of 101 kms. Takes about 2½ hrs to do it. Makes four trips a day.

Yes there is a train between Baramula to Ananthnag. But I would recommend to go Srinagar by road.

As per Indian Railways Time Tables, PNR, Route, Fares, Arrivals/Departures, Running Status - eRail.in (Better Way To Search Trains)
the train route in Kashmir valley is currently functional only from Budgam to Anantnag. It is yet to be extended to Baramullah in the north, and Qazikund in the south. The tracks are almost ready are are likely to be commissioned in mid-August. |
