There is something like a one in a million chance that a bomb will explode at the exact moment that your bike is zipping past, or that a sniper will put YOU in his sights!
That much risk will always be there.

The Jammu-Leh route is heavily guarded by the army and any chances of any mishap occurring is very low.

The road from Srinagar to Leh is much safer than Jammu-Srinagar which is unsafe because of the traffic rather than any unrest.

But make sure before you start for the ride that no curfew or restricted movement policy is not in place.

An earth quake / tsuname, plane crash, a big cocanut falling on our head, lightning strike, a fatel fall in the bathroom, any accident ......... all uncontrollables have a chance of hitting you anytime

So is the chance of a terrorist hit; however probabilities are very low on this route right now... who can guarantee anything? Nothing ventured, nothing lost.

Calculated risks are what makes life exciting. We should be happy, the route is for the tough-minded, otherwise they'd make it look like Indian Gate on a week-end evening.

Agreed, however it would be best to not go through the area near election time or 15th August.
