Because it is considered more scenic, tougher and at the same time safer than Srinagar route. Also if during the ride your bike has a serious problem, it should still be able to make it home via the Srinagar route, while on the Leh - Manali route it would be difficult.

I guess you mean Jammu – Baltal, if yes then it would be. Why not spend the night at Udhampur after taking the Jammu bypass? It would be long hard ride, but would save you hour and a half next day.

3). If I come back visiting Tso Kar and Tso Moriri enroute(Carrying Extra Fuel with Me) then also only one extra day will be comsumed i.e Day-12.
Now where can I go on Day-11
Yes, though if you wish, you can spend another night at Tso Moriri or even at Tso Kar (though Tso Moriri would be better). Alternatively you can spend 11th day in exploring places around Leh i.e. Hemis, Thiksey, Alchi etc or you can spend an extra day at Pangong Tso or Nubra Valley, either of these options would be good.

Alternatively you can head to Dah and Hanu village in Drok Pa region,

Either relax at Leh or explore places around it or head to Suru Valley from Kargil.

With respect to your itinerary, I would suggest the following changes:

Day4: Amarnath Darshan - Baltal - Sonamarg
Day5: Sonamarg - Lamayuru
Day6: Lamayuru - Leh
Day7: Leh (Local) + Arrange Permits
Day8: Leh - Khardung La - Nubra Valley
Day9: Nubra Valley - Leh
Day10: Leh-Pangong Tso
Day11: Pangong Tso - Marsimek la - Leh

dark_horizon: I think if I take hotel room then it would be better as I will not need to worry about the luggage as well...

I bought new CBZ Extreme on April 5th. I have got temporarty RC and as permanent RC is issued in Delhi in about 3 months so will receive permanent RC in June mid..

Its a big possibility that I may not have permanent RC when I go for the trip....

Is carrying permanet RC is mandatory... Or Road Tax receipt and Bike Bills will be sufficient in case I do not get it in time........
