No, I am not going anywhere right now....its for my friends..
My school-time friend along with his colleagues will be going on a 4-day trip to Rajasthan. Things they have on their radar are Jaisalmer, Mt. Abu, ChowkiDhani, Pushkar, and Ajmer with 4 days in hand. They will be traveling by car. So, what they need to know is basically everything. for example: 1. Which place to visit first? 2. And then to where? 3. Also approximate distance and the traveling time between these points. Also any other thing that you think they should know to have maximum fun out of this trip. Thanks in advance. |

Skip couple of destinations, else they might just end up traveling from one place to another, without enjoying it fully well.

Are they planning to start from Delhi? If yes, they're gonna spend more time on the road in those 4 days than see the places
Delhi - Jaisalmer is alone 900 kms and very difficult to cover in a day. and mt. abu is in a totally different direction. (south rajasthan, whereas jaisalmer is eastern most) not happening in 4 days sir.

Yes, the starting point will be Delhi.
@Sumeet: hmmmmmmmmmmm........what if they skip one destination from the list and add something else to compensate it? |

Skip jaisalmer or Mt Abu, choose one direction and shoot towards that one...
Day 1: - leave delhi early morning and reach pushkar/ajmer Day 2: - visit both the place and leave by afternoon towards Mt Abu Day3: - Visit Mt Abu Day 4: - Rush back to delhi This thing will be a race than a trip..better choose only Mt Abu and enjoy the place... |

how about Delhi to Mt. Abu directly on day 1? and then pushkar-Ajmer adn Chowkidhani while returning back?
something like this Delhi-Mt. Abu day 1 Mt. Abu day 2, Mt. Abu to pushkar/Ajmer day 3, Reach chowkidhani by evening on day 4, spend some time there, then start return journey, back to Delhi by around 3-4 a.m. Last edited by Sunilg; 07-03-08 at 12:04 AM. |

They are COMPLETELY confusing a sleeper bus itinerary with a car's!
It is peacefully doable by train. Del-abu overnight by rajdhani (leave 8pm, there by 7am). Sightsee, then take night sleeper bus to jaisalmer. chill out there/sightsee for TWO days. take overnight bus to ajmer. Stay there for day, overnight bus back to dilli. It is neither overtly safe/sane/worth it in personal car.

the forts are much better place to visit than chokidhani. and ranthambore is also a good idea. i am not much for pushkar or ajmer, unless the guys have special priority for it. i liked the jaigarh fort the most .

Rajasthan is hot now and so if they really want to enjoy these 4 days they need to give more stress on staying at one place rather then travelling in day time or they should travell in night and even sleep one by one and see the places in daytime.
