Anup Sir, It is a family trip and the prime purpose is leisure. So secluded places (but with decent acommodation), hilltops, places where we could find snow and good vegetarian food are preferred. I was initially planning for Manali and places nearby but heard that there are better places in and around Himachal. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Vik, I would suggest you take a look at the Tirthan Valley and the Great Himalayan National Park.

There are quite a few stay options in the valley and it is always nice to be near water.

The Himalayan Trout House might be just what you are looking for, though it is about the most expensive option in that valley.
Else look at the Tirthan Valley Resort or Raju's Cottage, the GHNP Sai Ropa rest house etc...

Do take a look here:
The Valley of Spring

Rewalsar, Gushaini, Manali, Kasol, Manikaran and Naggar

My suggestion...

Day 1 - Delhi - Timertrail Heights (Checkout: http://www.timbertrail.in/)
Day 2 - Timbertrail Heights
Day 3 - Timbertrail Heights - Manali (Solang)
Day 4 - Solang - Rohtang - Solang
Day 5 - Solang - Naggar
Day 6 - Naggar - Delhi

Anup Sir and Prasham...Thanks for your suggestions. Will surely explore the options suggested by both of you.
Prasham, Parwanoo looks like a terrific place but timertrail appears to be a bit expensive. Do we have other options available over there?

Thanks in advance.

Yes its a bit expensive but the hotel is great. The views are fantastic plus you get to ride in a cablecar/ropeway. If you feel that's expensive I suggest you cut down the number of days from 2 to 1.

BTW I am not aware of any similar resort in the vicinity. Google for the info.

Vik, while Timber Trail is a very impressive resort, I think it fair to let you know that cable car is amongst the most notorious ones around! Has had too many mishaps for anyone to feel good or safe about it!

Also, the weather has warmed up rapidly in the last few days and Parwanoo would be too hot to have a nice holiday!

Well I have googled for incidences of ropeway accidents at Timbertrail Heights. I've got data of only 2 such accidents in odd 20 years. If some one else knows of more incidences please post about them here.

BTW this was done just for information purpose and not to prove anything.
