Default Week long rajasthan trip - help wanted

Frnds

I am thinking of venturing into the land of dunes for period of 1 week ( 25 Dec - 2 Jan)..

I plan to see Jodhpur , Jaisalmer , Udaipur , Mt Abu. Can anyone suggest me a good relaxed itinerary ? I plan to cover the trip on my SX4 with my parents so would like the itinerary to be relaxed.
I heard that that there are night camel safari.

thanks
Himanshu

I feel every place you plan to cover stating from Delhi, has something exclusive to offer (Specially at the days of your visit when the Rajisthan is at top of the peak) and covering these places and some en-route as well would be difficult bet in one week. Most of the locations are at distance and would engulf your good time from one place to the other in travel. I would suggest to cut some places and spend more time at max two or three locations in one week.

you have 9 days from the 25th o the 2nd

well buddy you better book fast or you wont have any place to stay
day 1 delhi - mandawa or any place in the shekhawati region trust me you wont regret watching the havelis
day 2 mandawa-jaisalmer enjoy the sunset at the sam sand dunes and spend a night in the tents over there or if you think that is too cold an option you could spend the night at jaisalmer.
day 3 half a day of sightseeing is sufficient at jaisalmer after which you can push off to jodhpur
day 4 half a day at jodhpur and push off to mount abu
day 5 mount abu hire a guide and move around
day 6 mount abu to udaipur
day 7 sight seeing at udaipur
day 8 udaipur to delhi please head towards chittaurgarh and then take a left towards ajmer while enroute to chittaurgarh this is a beautiful 4 laned road as the direct road from udaipur to ajmer is narrow with a lot of granite trucks plying on them
day 9 reserve

you could check my 3 or so year old travelogue called the royal loop which is on the forum

+1, it would be madly crowded at most of the places.

No Offenses but isn't this itinerary with too much rush for places where in most of the day would be involved in traveling on the road towards the next destination. 7 places in seven days seems a bit unjustified to Rajisthan's Heritage. Its just like like doing window shopping rather than checking and buying the stuff.

Himanshu had requested for a week long ity including Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Mount Abu and Udaipur, and a road trip at that... yes it does involve all that driving, and dropping a couple of places might be better.
A trip involving night trains and taxis might work out better.

A would definitely agree on this. He also mentioned that he is traveling with his Parents who might not be to comfortable with the long night drives, and if they are ok with that, nothing like it.
