Hey guys, am in Leh since the last 3 days. Anyone knows about accomodation status in Chumathang as i would be doing spangmik to Korzok which would be a long drive so a stay option in Chumathang would make things perfect for me.

Rishabh there are guest houses at Chumathang, even the monastery runs a guest house there. Btw are road to Nubra Vallye and Pangong Tso open fully or is it only open for four wheelers?

But any way, the building is wood panelled from inside and very shoddily maintained. Everything looks old and neglected in there. So, be warned. Rishabh, Manali - Leh or Srinagar - Leh?

Hello everyone!
This is my first trip to Ladakh. Have gathered all the information I could from this website (isnt this a fantastic website !!!). I will be driving a Safari from Delhi (am sure Safari will make it on those roads). Reaching Manali by the evening of 10th June, and moving ahead 11th morning. Friends, my querry is if that is a good time to do that trip, i mean the road conditions and weather ? Please suggest. Thank you Regards Mehul Patel |

Mehul roads are in bad condition, but shouldn't be a big problem for the Safari. As for weather, hot to pleasant for the most part and cold in the evening/night and at a few high altitude passes.

Mayuresh in order to accommodate Nubra Valley as well, you would either have to do Pangong Tso as a day trip or get the permits in advance or in the morning by requesting the DC/ADC and heading to Nubra Valley on the forth day.
My personal suggestion would to try and add one more day to the itinerary and it would help all of this to come together well. |
