Manali is a waste of a day. Spend time across Keylong/Sarchu/pang instead.
in leh, can mean sightseeing around like the monastery circuit. Your return route demands alot of fuel to be carried. or the danger of contraband fuel

And you guys would go pillion in ladakh terrains ??
please do enquire about transporting the bike directly to manali / .That would save 2 days of pain. and more days in the hills.

Transport bike to Mandi, and try to hit Darcha that evening. Saves infinite headache compared to trying to find your way around delhi.

Hi Pradeep, welcome to BCMTouring.

![]() Rest every thing looks fine, pillions will probably get a lot more back and butt pain than the riders themselves. Just load less luggage on bikes with pillions and more on those who will only have the riders. |

Hi All,
Thanks for the reply and all information! Now 4 more ppl got added to our group and we are totally 10 on 8 bikes. We were initially planning to cover srinagar - Jammu route, also. But few guys, who had a very bitter xperience in srinagar, were a bit scared to come on that route because of terrorist activities... Please let me know is it safe and worth to go by that route... Also can we cover it in same number of days? I think it is quite far on that route.. Pradeep |

Yes Hitanshu, We are planning to send our own bikes in train to delhi...
But we need to think about sending it to mandi... No body in our team is familiar with those places... We are yet to give a thought on that! |

Hi All,
Am one of the member who is doing this stretch this year with this above group (pradeep's). I have questions on how to transfer the bikes to say delhi/chandigarh/mandi from bangalore? - I donno how effective couriering the bikes would be - in terms of the time that it takes, cost and major courier players who would undertake it? - So i plan to book few tickets from bangalore to delhi in one of the trains and then put the bikes inside those trains by showing the reserved tickets. Later miss the train on purpose and ask some friends in delhi to collect the bikes by couriering only the receipts. we would come by flights and collect it from our friends. Can someone suggest the best way please? Thanks in Advance
