Default Road to Pangong Tso directly from Deskit

I have a map of Ladakh (Nest & Wings) were in a road is shown that leads to Pangong Tso (Lukung) directly from Deskit (nubra) via khalsar, aghan, tayar, nook la pass, durgu & tanksey/tangste,

Does anyone know about it?

Is it bikeable, how bad is the road?

Or will have to return to Leh and then go to Pangong Tso?

How much is the distance from Deskit to Lukung if we follow this path?

of course if it exists.

Due to some reasons I am unable to upload it. If anyone wants it PM your email address and I shall send it.

No idea, some of the roads on the maps might or might not exist on land and even if there is a road, there is no guaranty it is open to public.

Do you have any contact in Leh from your last trips. If yes can you check it out as it can save a lot of time for us bikers especially. Even if it is a dirt track we can cover it be good bikes like pulsar/cbz and enfields.

What say?

This is the latest reply I got from a Travel Agent in Leh.

A: This road is still under construction and not opened for public officially.

I guess its the Wari La... so when you reach Shakti from Leh side take a aleft to climb Wari La and then the road from there will lead you directly to Nubra Valley.

Don't know the distances, so if anyone is attempting this do find out the distances and carry the appropriate amount of fuel with you.

Also if the road is used by trucks it can be given a try.... it might be difficult be not impossible. And if it ain't difficult what is a BCM guy anyways doing there.

That would be me, yes from what I have heard, Army does uses this route to transport goods from Nubra to Pangong Tso and vice versa. The only problem with M La is the fact it’s actually 18,000 + ft and the incline at some places is sandy, which is a problem for bikes, but not for 4x4 or 2x4 MUV’s and trucks.

Jay_J (IM) replied to my similar thread on IM. (I am banned for few days on IM due to "excessive posting" ????? What the hell is wrong in answering to someone's questions????? What the hell are these forums for ?????).

Checkout at http://www.indiamike.com/india/showthread.php?t=39060.

He did it last july along with two other guys. He says about 20 kms road was ready then and balance was very poor.

Can please anyone confirm with him whether they had to cross Changla on this route for coming to leh or did they reached sakti village without crossing changla. Please inform me of his reply.

ALSO

I have cut the image of this region from the N&W map that i have but I don't know how to upload the same. Please help so that we may be able to find some new roads in our heaven.
