Paras the Manali route is open at this moment and vehicles are going to Ladakh. With regards to how much it would cost to travel to Ladakh in a bus, I would have to say it would depend on the type of bus you take.

For instance, in case you decide to travel in Himachal State Transport buses, then it would cost Rs. 360 per person for Delhi – Manali and I think Manali – Leh is some where around Rs. 600 – 700 per person inclusive of a night stay at Sarchu.

For Nubra Valley and Pangong Tso you will be able to get a J&K SRTC bus from Leh and I don’t think it would cost much either because it’s a regular bus in which locals travel.

All in all you should be fine in 10k budget for the entire trip, by the way, how many days are you planning to spend in Ladakh and what all places do you want to visit?

Are you going alone or do you have some company?

I am going with my 2 friends but seems as if both might refuse at the last momemt. So ultimately I might have to go alone.

Like to join us/me? We shall leave delhi on 19th june and shall return delhi on 30th june early morning.

Current budget is around Rs. 15,000/- in which biking is included.

Let me know your reply.

Ladakh is quite safe, there is no terrorism till you cross over Zoji La and enter the Kashmir Valley.

Default Bus Time Table

Does anyone have details of timing of local buses for Nubra & Pangong Tso and other destinations in ladakh.

I had seen it on some thread at IM but i am not able to recollect it.

The simple buses are plying. Just make sure to take the HRTC buses from Delhi. I think they manage in two n half days, starting delhi night, next night halt keylong, next day leh by 8pm.

Their drivers are impeccable, I rode with them for quite a bit of distance. There are pvt buses, and Valleycon runs buses too, but HRTC has the best I believe - decent buses but really nice drivers, which really changes your experience.

And yes, avoid taxis like the plague. They are horribly rash and drive on high rum power more often than not.

Unless there is some fresh snow fall, traffic is flowing on the Manali - Leh highway. The charge for ordinary HRTC bus from Delhi to Manali is Rs. 360 and Manali to Leh is Rs. 425.
