Why Shouldnt I take My Discover to Leh ?
Hi Guys ,
I own a Discovec 125cc and have done lot of long rides on it... It have been very reliable to the date.. and I love it....
Now, I am planning to go to leh in july end. Plan was of buying a new Thunderbird... drive it for a month and then go to Leh....but it seems impossible because there is more than a months waiting period for new thunderbird and I dont want to change my plan just for this...
Best option now is hiring/arrange for a stable bike... I personally thinking of a Thunderbird.... or Pulsar....
Just got a Stupid thought... why shouldnt I carry my 125cc Discover and give my sweety a chance to admire Himalayas too...
is it possible ?... what are the things I need to take care of..... ?
Cheers,
Prasoon

There are only two things which can stop you from riding your Disco 125 to Ladakh.
a) The engine is bust!
b) Your own underestimation of your motorcycle.
P.S. The above points are in the view of that you would riding single.
Cheers,
Shamik

^^Ditto, fellow BCMTourers have even taken mopeds to Ladakh, for a discover there shouldn't be any problem as long as you ride sanely and within its limits.

Re: Why Shouldnt I take My Discover to Leh ?
I heard/read that someone on his M80 went all the way to K-top. Discover shouldn't be a problem but then you must be greatly determined to reach Leh, small problems shouldn't get your nerve. Understand small repairing of your bike and travel light.

Re: Why Shouldnt I take My Discover to Leh ?
Yes, in our ride to Ladakh, we saw a Splendor 100 cc doing the circuit, and it was never behind us. Always, the day to day targets were generally similar. And that must have been many many years old a bike. Discover would fare better, you wouldn't have any problem at all.
go for it....cheers...

I too had seen a splendor and an enticer (I think its a 100 cc bike, pardon me if wrong).
