Don't want to be the party pooper but rediff is extremely unreliable source. It has been in the past and no reason to trust it now. And for a launch anywhere close to Diwali, it should have been sighted atleast a couple of times by now doing road tests. Which hasn't been the case.

Fazer 250! That's indeed good news. But Yam will have to go overtime in launching it this soon. I think they have revealed their plans to rival the Ninja 250, which still has no sign of launching after a year of speculation. But I seriously doubt if Yam will be able to price it as less as 1.5L, if rumours suggest the Ninja will be priced in upwards of 2L.

Fazer 250 can't compete with baby Ninja, it just has 21 horses on tap, Yamaha to launch bigger Fazer

YS, your loyalties seem to have swayed in favour of the Yam instead of the much awaited ZMA

I think the Ninja and Fazer 250 should address different markets - one that of sports bikes (ninja) and one that of sports tourer (Fazer).

But then in our country, it is hard to have segmentations. I mean bullets are used for leh trips (i have never heard of a cruiser trying to do high altitudes on Harleys - BMW's and KTM do it). People have ridden commuters on tracks! We see bikes targeted towards track on Leh trips.

Loyalty? Can't have that for something which hasn't yet been launched. But I am happy that I'll at least have a choice.

If they do, i hope they launch the carb version. If the news is confirmed, its probably time to let go of my comet. I hope yam can get the ASS right cause i sure am tired of wasting my precious cargo space getting add-ons and spares for the comet.

And 21hp from a 250 would be acceptable if it delivers a truck load of low end torque. Its enough to give it great cruising speeds for indian conditions. The torque figures will decide if u can tug another broken bike up that hill in Ladakh.

Is there a carb version of Fazer? The one being sold in Brazil and other countries is an Fi bike and produces 20.70Nm of torque at 6500rpm.
