Re: Dunlop Sportmaxx on Pulsar
Daniel: The tire looks great! Is it a soft compound tire? Tell us more about its performance and also the price in US $!
Cheers,
Shamik

Re: Dunlop Sportmaxx on Pulsar
Hello, yes the tires are soft compound, 120 on the front and 130 on the back, the braking and handling where amazingly upgraded, the acceleration remains the same. Here in Costa Rica the price is around $150 each but I'm sure in India the price is less than half.

Re: Dunlop Sportmaxx on Pulsar
are you sure the tyre in front is 120??? I think its 90/90........I doubt whether 120 can be fitted in the front??
Anyways while fitting front tyre did ur mechanic remove metal plate inside the mudguard???? In order to fit 90/90 in the front one has to remove metal plate inside the front mudguard......

Re: Dunlop Sportmaxx on Pulsar
Yes ofcourse I'm 100% sure about the tire sizes you can be sure about it by looking at the pictures also, I used to have a 90/90 on the front before this tire. I would never buy a tire without knowing the size of it specially a US$85 tire. And yes I had to remove the metal plate inside the front mudguard but that was the only mod I had to make.
One thing I dont get is why I haven't seen anybody in India with this kind of tires specially becuase they cost ALOT less in India.
The front tire is 120/65/17
The rear tire is 130/70/17

Re: Dunlop Sportmaxx on Pulsar
Because these aren’t available in India, almost all of the good compound tires sold here are imported, so the cost end up being almost the same or in some cases, slightly more. For instance, M45 cost more than US$ 55 in India and majority of the other street tires with good compound cost almost the same.

Re: Dunlop Sportmaxx on Pulsar
Nice Tyres Daniel specially the front one if you have a gud broadb tyre upfront that gives you a lot confidence while cornering at speeds as you know the handle will be more stable than that when you are using 90/90 size !!!
as i have mentioned earlier that i was using FKR 110 in front and 140 rear and it was really gud even in wet condition, that was when i knew nothing about biking and just wanted a gud looking broad tyre not bothered about the compound and then the shop guy told that fkr tyres will get you grip in wet conditions as well.

Re: Dunlop Sportmaxx on Pulsar
A 120 front is OVER kill for any Pulsar! The handling would be adversly affected and you would sacrifice the much-adored Pulsar flickability! But different strokes for different folks, I have no issues whatsoever if anyone uses a 120 or a 150 front on their Pulsars or whatever bike
