What is that stuff? - Paraffin or diesel, mixed with some other ***. For moving sludge that has collected in corners and crevices of dirty old car engines. ...You really do not want to run your engine on oil diluted with that.

There is nothing really wrong with using an engine flush, unless you have a really old engine or fake flushing liquid.

Maybe, but I don't think Shamik or Akshay have reported any such issue with Motul 10w50 oil that they have been using on their bikes, which need 20w40 oil.

If it was 5 or 10 degrees higher, you wouldn't know, unless you were measuring with oil temp gauge.
If it was 5 degrees higher than what it might be with some w40, maybe the advantages of the synthetic Motul oil would still be more important than any disadvantages of the higher temperature. |

My bike is now running on 10W40(Only due to lack of stock for 15W50) instead of 15W50 it always ran on.
And i am not happy with it,will again revert to 15W50 at next oil change PS:10W40 and 15W50 both grades of same oil Motul 300V. Yes i do notice a drop in performance but it returns to normal after oil has run 200-300kms My bike once on the road sees 6.5K RPM band almost 90% of the times(Red line at 8K),so i stick to 15W50 and infact even after ripping it continously for 150+kms at speeds over 100,i havent noticed any signs of heating even in 40+ degree temperatures. W50 offers better protection anyday over W40 oil,if engine has to run at high RPMS for long durations.

what puzzles me is why Karizma's recommended oil rating was reduced to 10W30 instead of 20W40(with no change in any engine parts ASFAIK)
and why would a manufacturer not recommend a higher rating if over-heating/gear slipping issues are there? ^^any one knows the ZMR's ratings? |

Probably something to do with oil pressure and flow rate through oil pump etc.
