The P180 DTSiv2 has a shitty stock 35/35W headlight. I plan to get coils rewound with 15/18 gauge for supporting a 100/90W halogen.
Suggestions/comments/experiences?

If some one can invite Hydroxide to join this forum (is he already a member?) he would be best guy to answer this.

wind the coil with wires of higher guage.
If pulsar use fiero regulator, I use shogun's regulator(modified) put on 90/100 or 100/135 halogens. Hella 90/100, or phillips blue vision 55/60W Get your wiring , especially the ground checked thoroughly. If you want to go for dc, like zma..you need not bother abt the regulator part coz the battery would then direcly supply power to the halogen. I remember pulsar has 7 coils - 1 dedicated to cdi (do not wind this) 3 for lighting and 3 for charging battery. I changed this to just 2 charging the battery and 4 supplying power to halogen thru regulator. coz i find myself travelling during the night most of the time. In all this if the grounding is not done properly or if the wires are not taped neatly the light keep fusing. |

if still going for it, do throw some relays thrown in and replace all relevant stock wiring with some heavier multi-strand wire!

Arpan, Salil and I were exploring this possibility, since Avenger has a 60/55w headlight it would be a bit safer to try and incorporate that into pulsar. Any idea how different is Avengers circuitry from Pulsars?
