Dear Sabret00the,

120/90 17 Sirac is availiable for 2250-2300. Sirac is both an Off Road and On road tyre with good excellent Dry grip, wet grip and Cornering abilities. It is a tube type tyre. The Sirac is one of the best tyres suited for City and Trail riding.

Gaurav,
I have a 100/90 18 rear tyre.If I want to change my tyre to M45,which will be the ideal size since it shows as 3.00/18 , 3.25/18 & so on.
Also where can I get it in Mumbai & the approximate cost of tyre & tube.

Dear imjoshee,

Closer size would be 4.00 18 M45. You can check availability, since this tyre is in shortage. Fresh Stocks will arrive in Mumbai in 1 month. Cost should be around 1600 for the tyre only. Tube can be obtained seperately.

While, the tyre can be used without tubes, we would certainly do not recommend the same. Tube Type tyres are indicated with "TT" on the sidewall and Tubeless as "TL" for a reason. Both these tyres differ in construction of the sidewall and bead area and therefore should be used the way it is meant to be.

Using Tube Type tyres without tubes are commonly susceptible to constantly leaking air, which would lead to the tyre pressure needing to be checked every 3-4 days. Also driving at high speeds, if the the tyres hits a pothole, the air may leak from the tyre in a much faster manner which could be dangerous.
I missed this post for a long time. I was aware that the Sirac is tubed type tyre, but had been told by someone that Michelin's tyres are built basically as a tubleless, and thus even the tubed ones can be used as tubeless. Not sure how far that is true, but I know 2 people who've used the Sirac long term on varying kinds of terrain for more than 10K+ kms as a tubeless tyre without any issues.

Anyways, now I need to look for some other tyre thats of a similar type but tubeless!!!

Hi gaurav,

I have bought new bullet std.350 and i am not satisfy with the tyre grip especially cornering is bad. Could you please recommend some good tyres(i dont know the exact size of rear and front tyres of bullet i think they are of 19 inches) i need long lasting tyres with excellent grip. I will use my bullet for daily commute and for long rides or tours as well(on mountains).

And i have pulsar 150(non dtsfi) i also need to change tyres in it(it has 18 inches tyres). Please recommend some good tyres. I use my pulsar daily and for tours as well.

Regards,

Manpreet Singh

Dear Manpreet,

Your bike has 3.25 19 as both the front and rear tyre. Unfortunately, at this point, Michelin does not make tyres for the sizes used in Enfield bikes.

For your Pulsar I recommend 120/80 18 Sirac or the 4.00 18 M45 as the rear tyre. For the front you can go with 2.75 18 M45. This is keeping in mind the usae you have described above.
