Suggestion for a good air pump apart from the one which uses battery
HI Friends,
I am having trouble in measure air pressure, most of the petrol pumps are faulty and rest of the one's I also not rely upon.
I am planning to buy the air pump which I could use locally as well as on tours. My bike is pulsar200 so taking a battery powered pump will be risky as battery is the life of my pulsar, once it is weak I can't even start my bike.
Please suggest me something , and any good shop in delhi( karol bagh) where I can buy it.
Thanks in advance for your help

battery pump anyday. pocket small, and you can wire up to only work when the bike is running.
not a problem really.
foot pump is a literal pain, and consumes toooo much space.

I agree with Hitanshu, buy the electric compressor. Unless the battery is about to die, it shouldn't create any issues.
As for pressure gauge, well the one that comes with these cheap pumps is usually worse than the one found at petrol pumps. If you really want something accurate then buy a good quality one.

yeah, and dismember the pump. under the plastic is just a fist sized device which fits neatly into a tiffin box.

The new ones are already pretty compact and also quite cheap.

Re: Suggestion for a good air pump apart from the one which uses battery
Thanks Hitanshu and Yogesh,
After your suggestions and after going through long discussions in the electric pump - I think as my bike is just one month old and under warranty and has lot's of dependency on battery , it will be better to have.
1- Electric pump
2- Clippers which will attach a car type 12v socket to the battery on choice.
3- Adaptar to attach a car type 12v socket to the electric connection(for home use).
4- A good quality air pressure measuring device.
In this manner on long trips I can use any battery using the clippers.
Please suggest me if you think otherwise

Cigarette Lighter Attachment - BikeNomads
I think the slime guys had a good gauge for 150.
But honestly, its academic at best. YMMV ofc

Re: Suggestion for a good air pump apart from the one which uses battery
Simpler and cleaner option is what I use which is illustrated in the second post of Product Review: Portable Electric Pump/Compressor. Basically you just need to connect one wire to the socket and its other end to the plus terminal of battery and the other wire to the side connector on the socket and need to ground it.
No cutting slicing required and totally undetectable by the service center people.
For daily usage, I wouldn't really recomend using the portable compressor as it is best used for emergency purpose as it takes ages to fill air to the brim especially in an already inflated tyre.

Exactly my view too. These pumps are painfully SLOW.
If it is just the problem of checking the pressure, get one of the good pencil type gauges. These are very accurate.
One even comes with the Slime Mini compressor. About Rs. 1500/- for this compressor, with all kinds of connection leads and the gauge.
