I along with 5 others plan to do a bike trip to Leh from Chandigarh. We're from Kolkata and don't really feel like riding all the way in this heat and approaching monsoon.
We plan to take our bikes (all Royal Enfields) by train. Any tips on transporting bikes from Kolkata to Chandigarh / Kalka? |

thanks Yogesh ... actually what bothers me is whether there may be an issue of 5 bikes being accommodated in the luggage van of the same train.

Best would be to go to the railway station a few days before your date of travel and check the status of the brake-van of the train in question. Speak to whoever is the man on the spot and give him a clue that you'll have 5 REs coming on so & so day. A wee 'gift' will work wonders! ![]() Nothing's impossible in this great Mahaan Bharat, LOL. |

Luggage section should be able to accommodate 5 bikes easily, especially considering how they load the luggage
