Paypal Charges?
Hi Guys,
Recently I had 2 transactions using Paypal.
1) A friend of mine transferred $10 to my account and I was charged $ 0.64. That is 6.4%.
2) Today I received $ 6 from some other source and they charged $ 0.53. That is almost 9.0%.
This is nothing less than loot. Is there any other service that charges less. (I know paypal to paypal charge is nil but what about rest)

Another similar service is Alertpay

I received funds in that a/c a couple of times, nothing was deducted. But you should make certain also.

Re: Paypal Charges?
Thanks guys.
Abhi, Even I have received money many times in my paypal account. The issue is that when someone transfers money using his credit card, the charge their fees while if the money is send directly from someone's paypal account, they don't charge anything.

Re: Paypal Charges?
Prasham did they transfer the money through their credit cards or have you switched to premier/business account? Because if they paid through credit cards then the following fees get levied:
4.9% + $0.30 USD (limit of 5 transactions per 12 month period) ( Paypal fees)
For small transactions through credit cards, it can turn out to be expensive.

Re: Paypal Charges?
Thanks YS. I saw it yesterday. They just ripping us off. They had asked me to switch to premier account which I did and then I had to pay this charge. But now I have requested them to switch me to personal account so that I may not have to pay much charge.

Re: Paypal Charges?
Well you can only downgrade once so make sure you don’t upgrade again unless you really need it. But one can’t really blame them; they have to make money somewhere. Plus benefits of premier and business account outweigh the fees that you have to pay.

Re: Paypal Charges?
There are plenty of money transaction services but none of them are as widely used as Paypal especially by majority of the hosts and online services.
