The reviews of canon sx100 says that one can get like 140 shots on alkaline batteries but can get like 400 shots with NiMH Battery!. But a ppl at a big electronic store say that with NiMH one can hardly get 200 shots. Dunno what to believe.

Here is my experience with Canon A720IS on 2100mah Uniross battery (had earlier posted this at A720IS group at flickr):

Well went for a day trip to Red Fort and Chandni Chowk in Delhi and shot 289 photographs (IS shot only mode active) with LCD staying on for not only the photographs but also during the time i was moving from one place to another and was scanning out photography opportunities.

Earlier I had shot ~20 photographs, majority of them with flash and the low battery sign hasn't come up yet. If this keeps on, I can easily click 400+ photographs from the 2100mah Uniross batteries.

This apart from the fact that I must have shot at least ~60 shots with the accompnying alkaline battery (most of them with flash) and it still hasn't died!

The NiMH Battery That Fits SX100IS Can Take Around 230 Shots Before You Need A Recharge 100% Sure.

My DCS-H50 Does 300 Shots In 9.1 Mega Pixel With Flash On A NiMH. Reason...Different Power Ratings Of The Battery.

Thanks So guess the 200 shots of H10 isnt realistic as well.

But H50 works on Lithium batteries right?

H50 Works Only On A Lithium Battery Simalar To Mobile Phones.

Also Remember Time Is Calculated based On Camera On-Time Too. In A H-50 I Use Viewfinder To Click Which Is Not There In The SX100IS

Based on this, I guess SX100 should be able to take 400 shots as well.
