Here is a simple guide on how to remove purple/blue fringing which makes their appearance in high contrast area of a photograph.

Here is an example of blue fringing (100% crop).



To fix problem areas like this, open the image in Photoshop (CS2 used in this example) and then navigate to lens correction tool (Filter - Distort - Lens Correction) and you will be presented with the following window:



Under Chromatic Aberration choose Fix Red/Cyan Fringe, and adjust the slider till you are satisfied with the results. Make sure you have the image at 100% and are viewing the area affected with purple or blue fringe.
