Thanks Nitin, yeah, only if that guy had shown up early or those guards had used their brain cells!

For those who weren't there, here is the lowdown on what happened:

We arrived at Humayun Tomb at around 5:40AM and it was pitch dark. No signs at the parking for entrance so went about and found an open gate and went inside. No guards, no nothing, just a few people jogging. We started taking photographs and then a guard appears and tells us that we had entered through the VIP entrance and we should leave as the monument hasn't yet opened and those jogging have a regular pass for jogging and then escorts us out of the premises.

So here we are, waiting for the ASI ticket seller to arrive, watching people treat our national monument as just another jogging park, watching absolutely beautiful light pass us by and unable to do anything beside shoot photographs through the small openings of the iron gate:

ASI monuments are supposed to open at sunrise and the sunrise happens and we still aren’t being allowed inside.

Still waiting...

Finally at 7:30am the ASI appointed ticket sellers arrive and gives us ticket to go inside. We hastily make our way inside in hopes of getting at least a few good photographs, even though golden hour is over and light isn’t nearly as good as it was during sunrise.

Only a few meters inside and Lavkesh spots a Peacock trying to impress lady peacocks…

After a few more bird photographs, we head towards Humayun’s Tomb.

Humayun Tomb’s entrance

More coming soon…

Nice start. Waiting for more.
How absolutely infuriating that the golden hour had to be wasted!

And what did you guys have for nourishment?

BTW, the peahens are up in arms for being called cocks! LOL!

Lovely pics YS! A shame that I scared the peecock away.... 18-55mm argh!

Such a pity that they didnt let us in during the golden hours. The clouds were awesome and so was the orange light but only if the ticket seller came on time as the monument is officially open from sunrise to sunset.

A teaser one from my side.... havent got the time to process the pics as yet
