Should I carry DSLR in tank bag?
I need to carry my camera Cannon 400 D. I cannot carry my camera bag as I cannot carry it on my back. Has anyone tried a tank bag for a SLR camera dose the magnet in the tank bag cause harm to the camera? I do have a side bag that I can use but again will not be very comfortable and the camera will be prone to water and moisture etc.

what are you planning to do abt this????
keep it in a backsack with your pillion.
I would never expose any camera to tankbag magnets.Infact i never keep even my compass in tank bag.

Re: Should I carry DSLR in tank bag?
Since you are biking, I suggest the following
Take one lens, small tripod(which can be in luggage), batteries and charger etc., with memory charger.
All this can fit in a very small and light camera bag which can be tied to the rest of your luggage
However memory cards cannot be damaged by magets as SSD memory is not magnetic

Re: Should I carry DSLR in tank bag?
Where is Salil's DIY article on making a camera-stand out of a rearview mirror mounting?
That would be a good way to carry the camera, covered with a sturdy polythene bag!
Why, in fair weather, photos and videos can be taken on the fly too!

Re: Should I carry DSLR in tank bag?
Would have loved to do that but the Cannon 400D is to big to be mounted on the mirror mounting and also it cannot capture videos. Think il carry the back pack and my pillion will carry it.

Re: Should I carry DSLR in tank bag?
But if one is carrying a camera in the tank bag, after placing multiple layers of cloths etc. would it still cause trouble? I remember that Suyash was carrying his camera in his tankbag and I don't think anything go damaged.

Re: Should I carry DSLR in tank bag?
Discussed this on a photography forum, majority view there is, no damage would occur by carrying your camera in a magnetic tankbag.
