A New World, NH-1 (near Karnal)
En route to Shimla, our HPTDC bus driver stopped the bus at A New World restaurant near Karnal for dinner. I guess this is the place where all the HPTDC and HRTC volvos stop for dinner, since apart from us, there were couple of more HRTC volvos present there.
As far A New World restaurant goes, it is a nice clean self service restaurant, with rates which are pretty much the same as other dhabas (Rs. 55 for two aloo paranthas with curd and Rs. 120 for veg buffet). We had to wait quite some time for the paranthas and they tasted ok, but could have been far better, considering amount and quality of choices available in and around Karnal. Here are couple of photographs the place.   A catch here is, that in order to get to the restaurant, you have to walk past their in house shop, selling decorative items, books, suitcases etc. and seems to be cleaver marketing ploy by the owners. Isnt it the one which is on your left while on the way towards Delhi. I guess its a big complex with an ice cream parlour, coffee shop, McD etc?
If not then I maybe mistaken.

Amit it is on the left hand side if you are coming to Delhi, however I didn't see any McDonald or ice cream parlours there.

Seems like a clean hygienic place. Most of the dhabas enroute Chandigarh have pretty average but pricey food (thanks to the metro crowds).
So if the food is going to be average in taste and pricey atleast the plcae should be clean and peaceful.
