This place serves the most amazing n authentic south indian cuisine. It has:
Breakfast starting around 8 am
Lunch starting around 12.30 pm
Dinner starting around 7.30 - 8pm
They have different menus for each day and a thali system for all the meals.
I have only had lunch at this place and the thali has one daal, one curry subzi, one dry subzi, one chutney, curd, papad, rasam, sambhar, special rice, boiled rice, puris, one desert - and desi ghee, 2 kinds of pickles and peanut/garlic powder (think that's what it is ) on the table.
You can ask for as much you want - except dahi, desert and the special rice- all of which is just one serving
All this for a sum of Rs 60/- per thali. They also serve non-veg dishes - dry mutton and/or fish - just a katori of it and that is another Rs 40/- which I think is a little steep, but since it is cooked in a typical way its worth a try.
The breakfast I believe is also for Rs 60/- where they again serve one Idli, one vada, one dosa etc - this menu is heresay- but again for Rs 60/-, if someone tries it out pl let me know too!
I dont recommend dinner - because the menu is north indian with chapatis - only cooked by south indian cooks.
The food gets over in couple of hours for every meal.
Sat/Sun are crazy, should not even attempt if u r a little late.
Service is very prompt, the people serving are very liberal with their pourings - you have to tell them to stop.
Ambience - very noisy, crowded, vinyl tables n chairs , the A/C works - like any sarkari canteen but the food more than makes up for all the other shortcomings.
Also they serve
mineral water
