Hotels and restaurants enroute Manali to Sarchu.
Here is the list of some hotels and restaurants we visited.

Manali:

Hotel Kashyap.
Opposite to bus stand.
No parking available.
I don't have the telephone number. It's located off the road on which vehicular traffic is banned.
Rs. 200/- for one double bedded room, where in you can easily accommodate three persons.

Hotel Sher-E-Punjab.
For eating out. Quite nice one.
Veg and Non-Veg.
This is also off the same road on which vehicular traffic is banned, opposite to SBI ATM.

Keylong:

Tashi Deleg Hotel & Restaurant.
Ph. +91 1900 222343.
Cell: +91 94180 63677.
Fax: +91 1900 222450.

The food was nice and accommodation is also available.

Re: Hotels and restaurants enroute Manali to Sarchu.
Arent there any hotels just after Rohtang Pass?
Normally from Pb if you start from Manali you reach manali by early evening.
Next morning you start your grind to rohtang pass through traffic jams wasting 3-4 hours sometimes.
Now if there was a hotel an hour or so after Rohtang, you could hit Rohtang around late evening, and crash out after Rohtang, and even have the luxury of sleeping till 8-9am, and start at 10am for your midway halt at Sarchu, right?

Gramphoo, Koksar & Sissu could be such options Tanveer. Not sure about stay options at Gramphoo & Koksar as we didnt explore any, but at Sissu there is a good hotel named "Triveni" ..

With only two occupants in the car, this is also a possibility:

Park at a suitably secluded spot at Rohtang for the night and carry this with you (don't connect the helmet thingy ...the receptacle!): !!!!!

Re: Hotels and restaurants enroute Manali to Sarchu.
There is a PWD resthouse at kokhsar, sissu, gondla each. Check wiki in my sig.

However, evening is ALL return traffic from Rohtang with endless delays at the BRO HQ bridge. Why not stop very short of Manali, tank up, sleep early, and instead start for Sarchu at 4am? You won't get ANY traffic, and vehicles if any will be in same direction as you. Why spend hours in jams uphill? It can get dangerous with stupid tired taxiwalas racing downhill.

Kokhsar PWD guest house is a good option after Rohtang, though you might just be able to get a bed at the Dhaba at Gramphoo but it doesn’t make any sense. Alternatively you can always spend the night at the PWD guest house at Marhi.

sir i dont think guys with working knee joints need it. while going from manali to leh i felt a sudden and extreme natures call (no.2) and i relieved my self in the open near patseo .
by the way we also had to sleep for one night in my car when the alternator gor bust and battery was dead. so slept one night in car near darcha. but these are all emergency situations.
no portable potty chair required by the young and gastronomicaly active guys of this forum
