Jewels Restaurant in Katra located on the corner of Main Chowk (near the bus stand and tourist office).

It is self service and centrally air-conditioned restaurant (like Angan in Delhi) and the food here is quite tasty and is prepared without onions and garlic. Taste of north Indian dishes is similar to what you will find in Delhi, which can be a plus/minus point depending on what you are looking for. Food is slightly expensive and the price mentioned on the menu is without 12.5% VAT.

The biggest sore point though is the speed of service, whether it is when placing your order or while taking delivery of the food item. It is quite slow even if one factors in the amount of customers it gets.

I have been there decent place
had a bad time there in 2004 was on a personal trip with friends three of us ate a pizza there and ended up with food poisining.

Ambience is kinda decent
and it was just once i had that experience
you should also post about various places to eat at Adh kwari(i hope im spelling it right)
esp the halwa it is awsome

Adkuwari onward never ate at any place other than the shrine board run bhojanalayas, best and cheap food.

I'll be off to Jammu (Vaishno Devi) in a few days, so was just looking up some information regarding where to stay n eat n stuff.
