Mobile Shikara Dhaba, Dal Lake, Srinagar

There are, of course, many such. But for us the sheer novelty of living in a house-boat and hailing a passing 'dhaba' was great fun! He served us yummy sheekh kebabs and tikkas!! Prices are easily at least 50% higher to what you'd pay 'ashore'!

YS, there are many shikara grocery stores moving about on the Dal Lake. You can always hail one of those for packaged foodstuff, beverages, beer, tea & coffee. And some of them are also selling hot pakoras, aloo-chaat etc..
Very cool, living on the water!

A variety of stuff available to really put on enough weight to sink the houseboat!!
