How to carry fuel.
Hi,
I am planning my yearly ride to Ladakh in the last week of July with three other friends. The only difference is that we have pillions along this time, incidentally all four of us got married in last one year. All of us are riding Enfield’s this time. We are planning to buy cramster bags for luggage the only problem is that how much petrol can we carry along on the cramster not shore if we can carry any fuel with the bags. The alternatives we can think of are. .
1> Get Ladakh stands from karol bagh and not buy the bags.( I am not very comfortable riding with the huge stand as I have never done this before)
2> Get an extra stand for the fuel at the back of the bike. Where can we find one or get one made ?
3> Get Ladakh stand on one of the bikes and carry all the fuel on that bike.
Another question is that I need to carry my camera Cannon 400 D. I cannot carry my camera bag as I cannot carry it on my back. Has anyone tried a tank bag for a SLR camera dose the magnet in the tank bag cause harm to the camera? I do have a side bag that I can use but again will not be very comfortable and the camera will be prone to water and moisture etc.
Rajnish

Re: How to carry fuel.
Just in case we do not get petrol at Tandi we will need approx 20L of petrol with 14 liter tank capacity we ill need to carry around 8-10 liters just in case. So we need to carry around 10 liters of petrol. ( I even thought of putting my Pulsars tank on the enfield then thought how it would look.. LOL)

Re: How to carry fuel.
Take two pulsar 150 guys with you, that way you guys should have enough petrol for all six bikes
On a serious note, I would recommend getting those racks fixed. Another option would be to tie the petrol cans on the leg guard, but that wouldn’t be as safe as getting a luggage rack.

Re: How to carry fuel.
Yeah that quite possible. These are remote areas and supply isn't very reliable. Last year I had to request a firang for petrol as the pump in diskit wasn't having any fuel.

Re: How to carry fuel.
Like Prasham said, it can happen. Normally majority of the bikes (barring Enfields) have enough range to cover Manali - Leh without refueling.

what are you planning to do abt this????
keep it in a backsack with your pillion.
I would never expose any camera to tankbag magnets.Infact i never keep even my compass in tank bag.
