D.I.Y..get custom made clamps and mount points from a gas cutter guy, make your own dampning using rubber parts.Might take lotsa time but lot cheaper than sourcing it from aboard.

yes,we did try.Did'nt work out well.We used a phone cam instead,since none of us own a digi/handy cam.. a pen stand(phone stand)+lot of duct tape+foam+rubber.
We tried it on a P180cl,Problems:vibes from the tank makes images/vids blurry, too much wind noise.etc

Wish i had a handycam+works, could hav shown you a pictoral representation
Alternatively, try helmet cams like this one
http://www.helmetcamera.com/acart/ag...tCamera_&xm=on
Just place the cam on the tank or whereever you feel comfortable and tape it.
No need for any mounts.

If you are looking for tank cam mount than make sure you have a video camera with image stabilizer, else the video wouldn’t look good. alternatively you can mount the cam on your body with the help or a tripod and duct tape, video shot this way would have less jerks and vibrations.

@yogesh: these days image stabilizer is almost standard in all AV prodcuts, so no issues on that. dont want to opt for "jugaad" setups.

@hacket: i already have a handycam and digicam, cant buy another
plus, use of tape is really very odd... for me atleast.
moreover, imagine the 'novelty factor' attached to the mount!

Which bike are you planning to mount this on? You can always get the screws mounted on the tank lid for a custom tank tripod.

There is a shop in Delhi which deals with tripods like the one TV people use to mount cameras on cars, I guess they would have some thing of this sort. Sadly I lost their card , but if you have contact with people in media, finding them should be easy.
