Welcome to Equipment for the rider/driver section.
Having problem deciding if you should go for a new helmet or get those riding shoes you always wanted? From what riding/driving gear to take/buy for your upcoming trip to which gadgets you should go for, this is the place to be. |

I guess its always better to have a protective riding pant than a jeans. As for shoes, well most of the riding shoes aren't that comfortable for walking, but they offer much better protection.
If you feel you can wear the whole thing every time you go out for a tour or even a small ride, then by all means go for it. |

Don't talk of riding shoes...
Got those Army DN (or DM, whatever) shoes for the ladakh ride... got the biggest possible size...and I have sore toes... the width up on the toe end of them was so narrow that the toes were cramped up all the time... But they are very good shoes...High ankle, waterproof (with wax polish), and good abrasion resistance as well, sturdy and the leather wouldnt bend or stretch like the ordinary ones...so no room for leather expanding to your foot size... for 400 bucks a pair, they are a steal. For people with smaller feet, I recommend strongly. If your feet dont fit, dont buy |

Yogesh.......
I just went through PlanetDSG website... I must say that stuff on display is really good but is extremely expensive... If one plans to get these things before their ride to Ladakh or anywhere else, he would definitely have to raise a loan or something... Do you know where some cheaper stuff can be found??? |

@murtaza : Army boots are very good for rough terrain like ladakh and they are pretty sturdy and protective too.
and as for gears if not getting a riding jacket and pant do get knee and elbow guards a good waterproof / protective gloves. |
