Total Distance - 460 KMs
Duration - 2 days Route: Delhi-GGN (NH8) - Right turn for Rewari-Narnaul-Jhunjhunu-Mandawa-Fatehpur, Right turn on NH11 for Bikaner (167 Kms of straight road with just two turns) Road/Terrain conditions: Smooth tarmac all the way through except a 60 Kms patch single laned, two way road and shitty traffic. ![]() Places to visit: Junagarh Fort, Karni Mata Temple (aka Rat Temple) in Deshnok, 30 Kms away. Stay: Best bet would be RTDC's Hotel Dhola Maru, (Tel No. 01512529621) but there are decent private hotels/guest houses which are on offer and generally are neat, clean and friendly. Eats: A Big No for having food in your hotel, unless there is a speciality restaurant.. The best place to eat, if you do not want a runny stomach, would be Gallops, which is bang opposite the Junagarh Fort. The local cuisine is full of chillies and it is best that it be avoided. (Unless you are used to it.) |
