i feel the best route for Nainital is
Delhi - Hapur - Morabadabad - Rampur Doraha - KALADHUNGI - Nainital its much shorter than Rampur and Haldwani one. Also the road is much better and wider with less traffic. BUT avoid this route in dark. .. . .

Wrong routes.
the Best route is Delhi-Moradabad Bypass - U turn after bypass towards corbett - Bazpur - Kaladunghi Nainital But, small problem. A bridge has collapsed, change it to Moradabad bypass - Ramnagar - Nainital Roads are great, you can cruise at high speeds. As for older haldwani route, I think a major 8 year old bridge near Haldwani collapsed a few days back, so do your homework However Ramnagar route is okay |

But is nainital a good enough destination? I mena isn't it too.....touristy? How about heading up a little bit! Keep Nainital as a pit stop!

I am talking about the 10rs toll booth bridge(long single lane bridge). Now another bridge near Haldwani has collapsed. Both were made by UP state construction company, the same company which build the Airport Road flyover in BLR. Guys in Bangalore, be careful |
