So we have to go to Ramnagar office, and get permit for vehicle going into the park? How much do guides cost if taking own vehicle? Do these hotel guys help in arranging permits etc.,

LOL, Suman, you make it sound like a conquest!

For our SAD bhaiyya, who routinely scales highland on trekking routes, this was a bit of a let down. The blessed cabbie cheated them blind!
If not for the recent leg injury, SAD bhaiyya would have kicked him into geo-synchronous orbit!

Yes vehicle permits can be obtained from Ramnagar Tourist Information Center.. The guide fee remains same.. almost every local can help in getting permits be it hotel, jeep driver or a shop owner, as the process is pretty easy & is hardly a job of 5 mins..

Budget accomodations are plenty.. specially if is at Ramnagar.. best option is to reach there & rent.. There are many small hotels & guest houses on the Ranikhet road as well.. few nearby villages also have stay options... a small hunt can get you good accomodation, at low cost...

If fact we didnt even had to hunt, just asked the gatekeeper at the Bijrani entry & he gave mobile number of the guest house owner, we called him up, simply went there & booked @ 200/- bucks per person.
