Default Biking Season Trip 1

Hey Guys,

Had been off the hook for a while. Couldn't help it was kinda frustrating first with the license and second after getting it not available weekends to ride out.

Today finally since I did not have office so made my first move; went for an early morning ride with my Baby Blade since the time I purchased and started riding it.

The Biking Season of Dubai has started so all the sportsbikes and the Harleys, the Nakeds, the Quads are coming out of their hibernation and into the wide roads of Dubai with bikers testing their skills and their rides performance.

Now I would not really call it a trip log but maybe a Riders Day out (sounds like a baby's day out )

So here's the full picture. There were views and scenes that I could not capture due to the lack of stops lets see how best can I describe it.

The Event: Ride to Al Ain somewhere in the hills or the mountains.
Time: 7 O'Clock in the morning
Meeting Point: Petrol station at Dragon Mart near Aweer (20 odd kms out of Dubai) called the BUNK

The Details: I spoke to my friend Vivek last night and fixed up to meet him at 6:30 after which we could leave together coz as it is I had to pass by his home.
6:20 I left home Bur Dubai to meet him at American Hospital. Due to the difference in watch he actually left a bit early from the meeting point and we caught up just before American Hospital. He along with 2 other riders out of the two I knew one but the other I was wondering who he was.

The 4 of us rode together to the BUNK passing a couple of roundabouts we entered the Hatta Oman Highway a familiar road I have visited quite often regarding my bike.

Once there we stopped checked the air pressure exchanged greetings met the second new rider in this group apart from me. And waited for other riders.

At the petrol pump one could see quite a few bikes and quads. Its one of the prominent stop for refreshments and fuel before entering the FUN ZONE.

So right now we were 4 as below

1. Pradeep Bhai (R1)
2. Vivek (954 Fireblade)
3. Tarun (Super Blackbird)
4. Me (400 Fireblade/Baby Blade)

Awaiting a couple of other mates. One of the guys arrives who owns an R6 his name Kamal. The other called in stating he wont make it today and another messaged he will be late so we shall carry on and he will catch up at the next stop point.

By now its already 7:40 late as per the scheduled time we were late so we decided not to go deep but lets do a short one to small terrain with a few twisties place called Bureimi (dunno the exact spelling kinly excuse). Below is the pic before we departed for the Terrain.

The 5 of us set for the destination for today. This present stretch was a straight road of 4 lanes a side with average speed of 100 kph, and it being morning the roads were empty so we zipped at speeds individuals were comfortable at. The R1 and the R6 leading at higher speeds will the others zipping on and off.
I too for once tried my bikes performance to see how well it does, heard that my bike is capable of speeds in excess of 180 (the max reflected on the meter is 190) gave it a shot and I was really glad when the needle actually touched the end of the speed meter at 190 with still a couple thousand more RPM to go before it reaches the red line.

But later I slowed down wanted to enjoy the view on my sides. By now we had entered an area where there was lotta red sand and sand hills. Here I was on a road in the middle of the desert. I could see on my right the quads, the 4X4 people having set tents. This was the place where these people brought the quad motorcycles to ride in the desert . People set up tents and stay overnight at these places. A lotta clubs conduct races here. The view was really awesome. Vast stretch of sand with sand hills and at a distance one could figure out the outline of the mountains in a light shade of blue.

The Sand in such smooth tresses one can think that it wasnt something that always existed but has actually been laid out there by people who always keep it maintained and make sure it looks as smooth as a carpet.

Its a pity as much as I felt like stopping to click some pictures I could not coz if I did I would be left behind a lot. My present cruise speed was 110-120 kph.

Crusing at that speed and enjoying the scenes and the sky around me we reached to our next stop at the Shell petrol Pump in Oman.
Here I got a chance to click some more pictures with some fine Landscapes. Here they are below.

Just as we reached here the 6th member of the group Amrit also arrived on his 954 Fireblade (Yellow/Black)
We stopped here to get the fuel who needed, for refreshments, smoke and a 10-15 minute breather before we proceed into the mountain terrain for the small twisties and ups and down non straight roads.

Right now the speeds were high at points and low as well. No more vast and big roads 1 lane per side, which although have smooth surface but do have plenty of ups and downs.
The exciting part is when you riding at a speed of 100+ and riding on the uneven road it almost felt like a roller coaster ride. As you steep down the body tend to sweep back and as you go up the next second the air would push you hard from the top or call it the bike from the bottom so sitting almost upright felt that the bike is actually going to fly. It took some time for me to realise that at such situation its better to lower yourself on the tank to avoid sudden gushes of wind. "Never sat on a Roller Coaster".

Boy this was fun. We then made another quick stop at the T junction. Where I clicked some more pictures as below.

Off we went again to cover the rest of the distance with some more of roller coaster bends and now the curves and the twisties. With the tyres already heated up they provided such amazing grip on the road that one felt like leaning. I did try some bit of extra lean to test the tyres and learn something new.

Finally we came to the end point where we stopped for a Sutta Break yet again me as always took out my gear to click some more shots this time of me which are as below.

So this was the final stop from where we turned back and headed towards home. Once again to stop at the Shell petrol pump to fill the empty stomach of our rides and ourselves and then head straight home.

The complete distance 400kms from home and back. Time 4 hours. Speed variable. Place visited Bureimi in Oman at the borders of AL Ain.

Next time I might do it solo or with one other person so that I can make more stops and have more pictures clicked.

If i get a sexy pillion on on my bike, by the end of the ride I would not be able to even hold her hand. Coz my wrists would be aching due to the pressure.

This bike is not meant for pillion riding. I realised that when a couple of days back I took a guy to the mechanic.
