Trek from chandanwari is more beautiful and adventurous than baltal.Sheshnag lake is on the trek from chandanwari, moreover you come to see many picturesque locations on this trek.
I have been from both the treks and found baltal trek very boring. All the pictures I have uploaded are from chandanwari trek.

Have accumulated them after so much effort so like to keep as much intact as possible but taking helicopter or pony etc. is not my style so would like to trek the easy way .

Trek from baltal is comparativally easier than trek from chandanwari
BALTAL-AMARNATH= 15 KMS
CHANDANWARI-AMARNATH=36 KMS
The problem with Baltal trek is that you will feel bored just walking with mountain on one side and gorge on the other.
I suggest you should go from chandanwari side and return from baltal side just to add some spice to your travelogue.
On way from baltal to srinagar you can stop in sonmarg for water rafting provided the river has adequate flow.

You have a point there, how is the downhill route from Amarnath to Chandanwari I mean if it is easy with not many inclines then I would rather take the Baltal route while going and take Chandanwari route for coming down.

There are not many inclines on this route(chandanwari) one near chandanwari(Pissu Top) and other near amarnath cave. You can do it otherwise too(Baltal route while going and Chandanwari route for coming down).
