We put brakes in front of a Dhaba (Where we have around 21 Oamlates and 21 Tea by three people on Our Lahaul Spiti Visits in March 200






2130 hour
After having Dinner we geared ourself with the Jackets and Gloves as Cold Breeze has started.....

Moved from the Tunnel to Theog




On the way we try to capture some night seen, but camera seems to get Shy to capture those moments....







2200 hours.

Thank God we found one.. otherwise we have to do it ourself in Dark...

We again get loaded on our bike and after crossing Theog, get our tank full and left the NH 22 to the State Highway

Now we were on the State Highway, HP Goverenment is converting it from two Lane to four Lane. Earlier we think it max should be till Chaila But to our surprise we found it tell end i.e. Rohru

A Advice

When you reach Chaila; two roads Cut from here; this is the board been placed there



Go straight Don't take left turn. By mistake we took Right turn and travelled around 20 km in wrong direction. We came back and started to move on right direction.

We were tired a lot, So we were thinking to get some Chai... Bad luck ... Did't found tea in next 15 Km too. so we stop our bike on side and sit on road for some time and enjoyed the beauty of earth..


After half an hour we get back on our bikes and proceed toward Khada Phatar and then to Rohdu..

0220 Hour

We reach at Hadkoti and try to search room in HP Guest House. But to our surprise a marriage has just ended and whole of the Hadkoti is been booked by them.

So we decided to reach Rohdu and we left there... But to a much much Bigger Surprise 2 Marriages has happened here so all Hotels were booked here too... We keep searching for an hour no use.

So we went to Bus Stand and have tea n fans there and asked Tea Seller to arrange us a room. He arranged us to an Dormitory of his relative near bus stand.. Luckly we found a room, we unpacked and slept.


0800 hours

"Shaab Ji, Pani garam ho gaya hai nha lo" These were the first words present in my ears.

It filled me with Joy because I never expect that we can get hot water in such a room. Saurabh n me get fresh and then again packed the stuff on our machines and get ready to go....

Way from Rohru to Chirgaon is perfect but from Chirgaon the route again started getting worst. It was same as we went there previous year in September.

Last year we were not able to complete this trip because of heavy rain. We were left behind only 10 KM from the top therefore I was having some doubts this time also as it rain very heavily in Chandigarh on Thursday night and Friday morning.


As we started our way from Chirgaon we say the first Land Slide




As we cross it we were able to see Orchard on both of the side with Juicy Green Apples..

Fear on this route is that here the Soil is very very Slippery. I still remember last year around 10 -12 people including us had pulled around 3 Mahindra Pickup by ropes on the way as they were getting skit and going down from the mountain. It was very very Dangerous.

It remind me the track of Sach Paas where we were bagging to see Tarkol road again as we have travelled 1.5 days on such mountain stones only.

You mentioned 21 omelettes and 21 teas from last time but nothing about what you two had there this time! I expect you must have had at least 14 omelette's and teas!??

Why were you guys doing the trip under cover of darkness, missing all the scenery?

Waiting eagerly for the rest of the log. Very keen to know about Chanshal Pass and what kind of road leads up to it. I had this in my mind during our May trip to Kharapathar and Rohru, but plans got radically changed as you know.
