Day – 6 (4th June)

Woke up at 9AM in the morning. Today is my birthday so wore new Dress. Started from Hunder and went to Gompa at Diskit. Paid 20rupees for eco ticket. Parked my bike at entrance of Gompa and started climbing steps, took 3-4 breaks to reach top as I'm getting tired easily. Had chat with Buddhist in Gompa and took few snaps. Then went to Sumur and Panamik. After crossing Panamik Police stopped me at check post and didn’t allow me to go beyond that. Some interested thing happened at check post.

I see foreign couple on pulsar stopped at check post, and police officer at check post asked to show the permit. They have shown the permit and request to give it back as its last copy. Police officer says he requires a copy he cant give it back. They begged him to give the copy. They requested him very much as they are not passing the check post its not require to keep the copy, they want that last copy for traveling back. Police office didn’t show any courtesy. Suddenly lady who is sitting back on bike jumped on police office and tried to grab the permit copy, it got torn. Police guy didn’t expect this, he got angry he started saying you guys need punishment, you leave the bike here I’m going to escalate this to my higher officials blah blah. Immediately foreigner lady said I’m sorry, I lost my temper.. please leave this matter with here. But police guy is not ready to listen anyone.

I requested him to leave the foreign couple, may be they got scared as they don’t have permit. But no use of my words.. I started my journey back to LEH.

On the way back I met school children and taken some snaps with them. They were happy when then see themselves on cam. Asked them to take few candies, with in seconds the whole packet is empty. Lucky that everyone got atleast one chocolate, felt happy to share some moments with kids. After some time again I saw few kids playing on road.. So stopped the bike and took a snap. Thought of giving something to them, soon I realized more and more kids are coming there, coz i stopped next to school. Immediately I said Bye to them and started.

Felt nurba valley is not scenary as I expected. May be I went with too much of expectations. Started back to LEH by 2PM, gave left to one worker from Khalsar to K-top, he is walking alone. Reached LEH by evening 6PM.

Went to Net center in LEH to update the BCMT. Charges are bit high, per minute they charged one rupee fifty paisa. For 40minutes I paid 60/-. Want to try for home stay but couldn’t get any. So roamed in market for some time and tried road side dishes in LEH market. Including Momo, kabab, Boti etc. Again bargained room for 200/- and slept by 11PM.

Distance Traveled : 195Kms
Weather : Sunny
Roads : Good & Bad

Hiambuj, Thank you very much .. Its not about the photos.. I feel it all depends on the eyes how we see them..

I believe its about the eyes of the photographer how he sees it, how he clicks it & how he presents it to the viewers . You look great in the art !! (Our maestro Salil has also pointed this out in earlier posts)

And what about other elderly gentlemen who seem very good at pointing out such things but seem completely unable to do it themselves?!!
