After Jalori Jot & Shringpur, Ghiyagi: Kasol calls! It always calls!! It is like that only.
This becomes a photolog of days 3 & 4 of our holiday.
Did not take any photos on the short drive from Shringi Vatika to Kasol.
Except this: The lone cypress?
and this is what Sanjha Chula has done to itself! Grotesque!
Had lunch at the usual Beas View Cafe. Did not get to sit at the riverside tables as there was a bunch of typical sadak-chaap assholes playing in the water very noisily and showing off (God knows what)!!
Checked in at the FRH, which had very kindly been booked for us for the nth time in the last few years by our good friend in the department.
The FRH has been augmented and re-furbished. Very comfortable. Two large bedrooms, a dining room and a lovely veranda overlooking the garden and the distant snow peaks (which were not visible due to cloud cover).
The FRH caretaker's little daughter assembled a cute bouquet of flowers for us from the garden and placed it on the table in the veranda for us to see it early morning!
The little girl
and her brother. Such happy faces! They're having their summer break from school, these days.
There has been a very interesting development at Kasol: the number of Israeli tourists has reduced to about one tenth! The govt is not granting as many visas and certainly not giving extensions within India.
This has made Kasol the quiet town it used to be 10 years ago. A very welcome development for us!
Ah, what more can I say? We enjoyed the weather, short walks, eating in our favourite places and doing some wee shopping at the curio/trinket shops.
Here are the photos:
Adieu Kasol! Till we meet again ..... in thunder, lightning and in rain ....

You're more right than you realize!
Altitude is only about 1500 mtrs, but monsoon lends it the magic! Clouds factory is what this whole area becomes in that season.
We also went once in mid-November. Froze.
Parvati Valley is a narrow, essentially leeward valley and gets bitterly cold during winter!

Shoja route not required. We were approaching from the Jalori side, hence came via Shoja and Ghiyagi.
Kasol is on the route to Manikaran.
From Bhuntar, you'd take the right that takes you across the Bridge to the other side of the river.
After the bridge you take the left road and enter Parvati Valley, on the road to Manikaran.
A little over 30 kms from the bridge and you'll find yourself at Kasol.
If you land up in Manikaran, you know you overshot Kasol by 4 kms!! Go back.
There are many hotels and guest houses. Scout around and find one that appeals. This can take over one hour to do.
Cost for most rooms will be Rs.300 to 500/- range. Rooms with common toilets for as little as 100/- per day.
One special thing about Kasol - common toilets are invariably very clean. Reason: Hardly any Indian tourists!
If you're willing to park and then trek up to a hotel, your choices really multiply! (Look near the old bridge too).
